North Point , Similan Islands – Thailand Dive Sites

North Point is another of the Similans’ signature big boulder sites, with huge great rocks rising out of the white sand.

North Point is around the corner from Christmas Point on Similan Island Number 9. It’s another of the Similans’ signature big boulder sites, with huge great rocks rising out of the white sand.

There are some big fan corals growing on a few of the rocks which look spectacular. These rocks provide lots of places for fish to hang around and hunt.

They also provide cover for divers from currents, although North Point tends to be quite chilled out compared to its more feisty neighbour Christmas Point.

The site runs out into the deep down a gentle slope from the island. In the shallows there’s several bommies that attract lots of smaller reef fish like anthias.

If you dive it first thing in the morning and you’ve got good visibility, the sun provides a stunning backdrop to North Point’s boulders.
