Jakarta Airport Hotels: Which One Should You Stay At?

Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) has four airport hotels, spread across Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Which one is best?

Having been through Jakarta Airport many times on the way to and from Indonesia diving trips, I’ve stayed in three of the four Jakarta airport hotel options. They range from adequate to pleasant – the main issues to consider are how much you’re prepared to spend and the location of the airport hotel. To maximise your convenience, you want to stay at the hotel nearest to the check-in area of where your flight is departing from. Double-check which hotel you’ve booked and factor in where your gate is.

Jakarta Airport Hotels Summary

  • Anara Airport Hotel (Terminal 3) — 4-star, full-service hotel at the international end of T3. Best for international arrivals and departures from Terminal 3.
  • Grand Anara Airport Hotel (Terminal 3) — 4-star, similar standard to the Anara but at the domestic end of T3, with a swimming pool. Best if you have an early domestic departure from Terminal 3.
  • d’primahotel Wellness Center (Terminal 3) — Budget option, compact rooms inside the terminal. Best for short layovers where you just need a few hours of sleep without leaving the terminal.
  • Jakarta Airport Hotel (Terminal 2) — Mid-range, above Terminal 2E departure hall, with a restaurant and runway views. Best if your flights are using Terminal 1 or 2.

Grand Anara Airport Hotel and Anara Airport Hotel – Not The Same Hotel!

The Anara hotel and Grand Anara hotel are located at opposite ends of Terminal 3. They are not the same hotel! They are on opposite sides of a very large terminal building. It is really easy to get them mixed up. Study the signs carefully when in Terminal 3. Ask airport staff if you’re going the right way, particularly if you’re pushing around a trolley of scuba diving gear.

Review: Anara Airport Hotel, Terminal 3

The Anara is the most prominent airport hotel at Soekarno-Hatta, positioned at the international end of Terminal 3. It opened quite recently in 2020 and has the usual international hotel facilities – restaurant, spa, gym, and lobby lounge. More importantly, the rooms are good size, clean, well-kept and with a spacious shower with decent water pressure and a big comfortable bed. I most recently stayed here in December 2025.

There’s also blackout curtains, flat screen TV, mini fridge, safe, and the room is well sound proofed and quiet.

The location works well for international Terminal 3 passengers: it’s about a four-minute walk from international arrivals. The catch is that if you’re connecting to a domestic flight from Terminal 1 or 2, you’ll need the airport skytrain or a paid shuttle — there’s no free inter-terminal transfer service.

Finding it on arrival can be confusing. The clearest route is to take the lift to the first floor and walk across the overpass into the small shopping arcade. Don’t try to follow signs through the carpark on foot — it’s congested and poorly marked.

Room service runs 24 hours and the menu is extensive, which is useful for arrivals at odd hours when you’d rather not go hunting for food in the terminal.

The hotel restaurant was fairly basic in ambience but the food was surprisingly good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We dined there for lunch and dinner as we simply couldn’t be bothered to go out to the busy terminal food outlets. Supposedly breakfast is served here from 2 am if you need it – contact the hotel direct to check if that’s important to you.

Best for: International arrivals and departures from Terminal 3. Overnight transits on international routes.

Review: Grand Anara Airport Hotel, Terminal 3

The Grand Anara is at the opposite, domestic end of Terminal 3 — near the Terminal 3 domestic parking area. It has 141 rooms and is the only airport hotel at CGK with a swimming pool. There’s also a spa, wellness centre, restaurant, and function halls.

Despite the “Grand” branding, the two hotels are broadly comparable in room quality and pricing — both are 4-star. The pool is the main tangible advantage the Grand Anara has over the original Anara.

The key practical distinction is position within the terminal: domestic check-in is a 3–4 minute walk from the hotel, while international check-in is around 10 minutes. So for international departures it’s a slightly longer walk than from the Anara, and for domestic T3 departures it has a marginal edge. Neither is the right choice if your flight is from Terminal 1 or 2.

This is only one of the four hotels I’ve not stayed in yet as I’ve never needed to get an early morning domestic departure. But, given the previous guest reviews, I’d be happy to stay here if the need arises.

The hotel can be hard to find — it’s at the domestic departures area near the parking exit and signage inside the terminal is limited.

Best for: Early domestic flights from Terminal 3. Travellers who want a pool. Anyone who doesn’t mind the slightly longer walk to international departures.

Review: d’primahotel Airport Jakarta Terminal 3 Wellness Center

This is a different category of option from the two Anara properties. The d’primahotel Wellness Center is a budget transit hotel located inside Terminal 3 at the international departures area — specifically at gate 4D on the second floor. The front of the hotel is quite narrow and sandwiched between restaurants.

There are friendly staff waiting there to take your bags downstairs into the basement which is the main lobby and check in area. There’s a ramp for them to wheel down bags. The whole vibe of the place feels a little bit underground compared to the gleaming lights of the terminal itself, but it’s clean and the staff are very helpful.

Rooms are small and windowless. There’s just a bed and ensuite toilet, sink and shower. It will quite a tight squeeze if there are two of you. Forget breakfast or room service or wake-up calls – this is just about having somewhere to take a shower and lie down for a bit. It’s also good to simply be somewhere quiet and out of the noise and crowds of the airport terminal.

Best for: Budget-conscious travellers. Short layovers. Anyone who just needs a few hours’ sleep without leaving the terminal airside.

Review: Jakarta Airport Hotel, Terminal 2

Jakarta Airport Hotel Terminal 2 Room Interior

The original airport hotel at Soekarno-Hatta, and still the most useful option if your flights are from Terminal 1 or 2. It’s located above Terminal 2E in the departure hall, with a restaurant, bar, runway views, and complimentary breakfast. The airport skytrain connects Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 and runs 24 hours, so cross-terminal access is straightforward — but Terminal 3 passengers don’t need to come this far.

Rooms are clean and comfortable without being particularly memorable. Pricing is slightly lower than the Anara, as they should be. The hotel is clean and the staff efficient and friendly, but it’s definitely in need of a big refurbishment.

Terminals 1 and 2 handle a mix of domestic routes — primarily Lion Air, Batik Air, and Garuda domestic services — along with some regional international flights. If your itinerary involves these airlines, this is the most practical base.

Best for: Passengers using Terminal 1 or 2. Anyone who wants a full room with breakfast at a slightly lower price point than the T3 options.

Getting Between Terminals At Jakarta Airport

Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta airport has a free skytrain (Skytrain CGK) linking all three main terminal areas, running 24 hours. Journey time between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 is around 10–15 minutes including waiting time. It’s free and straightforward, which reduces the penalty of staying at the “wrong” terminal — but for very early departures, being in the right building from the start is still the better option.
