Diving Sulawesi and Komodo
I won't be posting much for the next month as I'm heading to Sulawesi and Komodo on two back to back dive trips
I'm heading off tomorrow to spend time exploring the Lembeh Straits, Bunaken, Bangka and a little of the Sangihe archipelago with Ocean Rover. 3 days after I get off their boat I'm on the S/Y Siren doing a trip to Komodo - my second, and this time not in the rainy season. (You can read the Komodo story I wrote for Scuba Diver AustralAsia magazine here on Divehappy).
Despite having managed to turn my Nikon D70s into an aquarium last month while on Koh Tao, and so being without a DSLR while I'm diving these two trips, it's hard to feel peeved when I have the chance of diving two of Indonesia's best areas. Besides, my trusty Canon IXUS 800 will still be good for most macro critters I encounter. That's how I console myself, anyway...
I will be writing stories for various magazines about these trips, but I'll also be writing up trip reports about the Ocean Rover and the Siren just as I did for the MSY Seahorse trip I did in Raja Ampat this February, in the hope of providing practical info and evaluation about these boats.
If you've already been to Sulawesi and Komodo and have uploaded trip reports and / or photos, please let me know the link so I can mention it in my reports.
