Diving With Great White Sharks: Rodney Fox

by Chris on November 1, 2006

Rodney Fox is a legend amongst shark divers - one of the few people to survive being attacked by a Great White Shark, Fox has dedicated his life to understanding and conserving these amazing and fearsome creatures from his base in Adelaide, Australia

I'm currently doing some research on Rodney Fox and have tripped over some fascinating links about the man. First up, the official Rodney Fox website has been completely overhauled, with a snazzy new look and lots more info about their expeditions to go cage diving with great white sharks off the southern coast of Australia.

There's also a dedicated site for Rodney Fox's Shark Foundation, which carries out conservation work around Great Whites and allows you to adopt a shark too.

Wikipedia has a fairly extensive entry on Rodney Fox while there is an extensive interview with Rodney Fox at Sharkman's World - it's an excellent overview of Fox's entire career from the original, horrific shark attack in 1963 through to recent times.

I'm still hoping that one day I'll get to meet Rodney Fox and his son Andrew and go diving with them to witness the Great Whites for myself.
