Bethlehem dive site sits next to Sogod Bay’s Tangka’an Marine Protected Area and has corals and marine life to rival its neighbour

A new site to me, Bethlehem sits a bit further south of the Tangka’an marine protected area. There’s a very noticeable green-painted stairway up the side of the cliff here as the visual marker on the surface for the dive site.
Underwater Bethlehem is a white sand slope with big clumps of coral levelling off about 30 metres down. Despite it raining when we went in, the site felt full of light as the sand reflected back what sunlight there was.

Highlights included an imperious turtle that was completely unbothered by photos, not willing to move an inch, and some lovely flybys of schools of fish from the blue, whipping in over the reef and then out again.
The coral is in great shape just as with neighbouring Tangka’an and is definitely worthy of regular exploration.
