Crab In The Coral Shadows, Bali – image © Chris Mitchell
While Tulamben in north-east Bali is rightly famous for the beautiful Liberty shipwreck, it’s also a haven for macro life both amongst the coral reefs aloong the coast and the seemingly barren black sand slopes underwater. This crab was well-hidden beneath the folds of soft coral, waiting to ambush its next prey and staying hidden from predators. (Tulamben, 2007)
