Working as a PADI Divemaster in Vietnam

Doing your PADI Divemaster course in Vietnam means you not only become a professional diver, you also get to enjoy working with Vietnam's great people

Anna Marie Davis has written a great article over at the excellent travel/work/volunteer website Transitions Abroad about her experiences as a PADI Divemaster in Vietnam. Davis decided to do her PADI Divemaster course in Nha Trang with Rainbow Divers, and her article recounts not only the enjoyment of doing the course but also working alongside a truly international crew, with the laid back Vietnamese instructors and dive guides helping everyone pull together. It's a pretty inspirational piece and well worth reading. I did my own Divemaster on Koh Tao in Thailand and can echo Anna's experience - it's a real buzz not only diving all day every day but also meeting so many great people too in such a unique environment.

I've written previously of my own diving experiences at Nha Trang in Vietnam and it's also worth mentioning that my friend Joe, who runs Phuket Diving Safaris, is currently doing a special PADI Divemaster package where you can become a Divemaster and do 3 Similan Liveaboards at a huge discount to what you would normally pay. Definitely worth checking out if you're serious about doing your Divemaster in Thailand.
