A few weeks ago I mentioned the creation of an artificial reef off the coast of Thailand using old garbage trucks - well, the trucks were dropped into the ocean last week and Reuters got a couple of pictures of them going in - see here and here.
It looks as if the reef, some 5 miles from shore, is designed to attract more fish and so help local fishermen whose livelihoods are threatened by dwindling fish catches. Not so sure if there will be any opportunities here for divers, but you never know.
