Garbage Truck Artificial Reef – Pictures
Garbage Truck Artificial Reef – Pictures
Thailand has created an artificial reef using old garbage trucks. Reuters got some pictures of the trucks being committed to the deep
A few weeks ago I mentioned the creation of an artificial reef off the coast of Thailand using old garbage trucks - well, the trucks were dropped into the ocean last week and Reuters got a couple of pictures of them going in - see here and here.
It looks as if the reef, some 5 miles from shore, is designed to attract more fish and so help local fishermen whose livelihoods are threatened by dwindling fish catches. Not so sure if there will be any opportunities here for divers, but you never know.
