There's not that many women currently involved in Technical Diving in Thailand, but Technical Diving Instructor Ayesha Cantrell reckons that might all be about to change...
Technical Diving is increasingly popular in Thailand, due to the favourable conditions and wide collection of shipwrecks to explore, especially in the Gulf of Thailand. However, it's a pretty much male-dominated sport - which is why my friend Ayesha Cantrell, who is a Technical Diving Instructor as well as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, wrote up this interesting article on female technical divers. For women interested in taking on the next challenge in diving, Ayesha has some great advice.
Ayesha is based on Koh Tao in Thailand - she runs both PADI scuba classes and technical diving classes. She also recently wrote a great story for Travelfish about how to become a dive instructor on Koh Tao, including not only what you can expect to pay for all the courses before you qualify as an instructor, but also what you can expect to earn.
