Need to get your bearings about where next to go diving in the world? These two sites provide a good overview of hot global dive spots

Wannadive bills itself as “the world dive site guide” and is an impressive mix of info - lots of stats about dive sites and their respective countries, Google Maps geo-location, GPS info, and space for contributors to add their own comments to each dive site review. At the moment the site is still growing so quite a lot of it is sparse - Thailand only has a few entries for example - but the slick mix of info means that if they get their editorial info in place, it will become a great site.

Dive Site Directory already has a stack of reviews from around the globe and is also nicely laid out - easy to navigate around, which is a relief when there’s so much information to get lost in. It’s patchy in places - Thailand has barely anything about the Similan Islands, for example - but even so, there’s a lot here. I particularly like the Highlights section that gives you a flavour of the best spots around the world. It’s definitely worth checking out both these sites when looking for new dive destinations.
