Diving At Castle Rock – Komodo Scuba Video

by Chris on January 30, 2009

My friend and ace videographer Ai Futaki has put together another short video from our Komodo liveaboard trip - this time at the amazing dive site Castle Rock

This video was shot by Ai Futaki at Castle Rock in the Komodo National Park in September 2008. We were on a liveaboard on the S/Y Siren (trip report coming soon).

Ai is a freediving instructor and has previously shared an amazing video she made in Komodo while freediving - no scuba required. The video above she made while on scuba - some sites in Komodo just have too much current to freedive safely - and of course, the current brings in the big things... I think only the first couple of minutes is at Castle Rock and then the rest is from other locations.

You see a video I shot of Ai freediving here.

I had two of the best dives of my life at Castle Rock on successive days - the sheer profusion of fish life there was stunning. I can't wait to go back!

great video, frantic fish life there at Castle Rock. And the GT looks massive! Komodo still tops my list of must dive locations in Indonesia
